QUESTION
(a) whether the Union Government has taken any steps to grant monetary and nonmonetary benefits to the employees serving in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected Districts;
(b) if so, the details thereof including the details of employees at Panchayat, Block, District and State level to be covered therein;
(c) whether Central Government employees would also be covered under the scheme; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): At present there is no such Scheme. A majority of Government employees serving in LWE affected districts are State Government employees. Hence, a draft Incentive Scheme for Central and State Government employees posted in Left Wing Extremist affected districts was circulated to L.W.E. affected State Governments and concerned Central Government Ministries/ Departments for their comments in September, 2009. No final view has been taken in the matter since views of many State Governments are still awaited.
